MOD’s Cyber & Influence Science & Technology Centre

Cyber and Influence Logo

The Centre supports the implementation of the National Cyber Security Strategy across defence. This involves research into the evolution of cyberspace and its influence on human behaviour.

The Cyber & Influence Centre will fulfil its role by:

  • Ensuring a deep understanding of the strategic and technical demands of MOD.
  • Fulfilling capability requirements through stretching, applied targets in the Physical, Information and Human Sciences.
  • Developing a UK-wide enterprise capability in Cyber & Influence tools and techniques.
  • Providing advice and contributions to meet the rapidly evolving operational needs.

Suggestions for research
should be forwarded via:

MOD Centre for Defence Enterprise.

Enquiries for the Cyber &
Influence Centre should be sent to:

candicdtenquiries@dstl.gov.uk

Based on the Cyber and Influence elements of the Defence Technology Plan (DTP) the Centre will develop a single, integrated programme to address:

  • Electromagnetic Spectrum
  • Understanding and Influencing Human Behaviour
  • Computer and Network Operations
  • Optimised Situational Awareness to support defence

…and mould these into a single, integrated programme for delivery.

Cooperation across Government, Industry and Academia

The Cyber & Influence Centre will draw together the UK’s leading researchers through trusted membership of Information Exchanges that will provide the opportunity for collaborating and exchanging across the wider UK Cyber and Influence activities. This will also include attachments and secondments of personnel from industry and academia to elements of the Centre programme that must be delivered within government.

Proposals for Cyber and Influence research can be submitted through the Centre for Defence Enterprise. For more general Cyber and Influence enquiries please contact: candicdtenquiries@dstl.gov.uk
