| Dstl wants to share its enthusiasm and innovation by investing in science and technology education. We work in partnership with the education community to inspire teachers and students alike, by feeding their curiosity and challenging young minds.
We work throughout the many stages of the education system from primary through to professional Chartership and we aim to ensure students, teachers, schools, universities and colleges are supported and encouraged to achieve their best in science and technology.

Our scientists volunteer to visit local schools, supporting their science events and arranging schools roadshows through the Science and Engineering Ambassadors scheme (details below). Dstl also arranges an annual “Bring your child to work day” which aims to enthuse the children of our scientists.
Ambassadors Scheme
We empower our employees to involve them in education and special leave is available to those staff who wish to volunteer for an activity that benefits the local community. Our commitment to community liaison allows employees to use work time to participate in education projects as Governors, mentors or classroom readers.
