For our advice to be trusted, it is essential that our customers, colleagues and the public can depend on it being ethically sound. We believe that good science cannot be done without good ethics. Therefore, we do not tolerate unethical behaviour and always aim to meet the highest standards of propriety and conduct.

We will always operate within the law and we are guided by the Civil Service Code.

Dstl has adopted the principles laid out in the Universal Ethical Code for Scientists.

If doubts are raised about the ethical soundness of Dstl's work, we will respond swiftly to protect people, property, wildlife and professional reputation.
