Background

The Civil Service Order in Council 1995 authorises the Civil Service Commissioners to require departments and agencies to publish summary information about their recruitment and the use of permitted exceptions to the principles of fair and open competition and selection on merit.

Recruitment

Dstl has a system in place to ensure that recruitment is carried out on the basis of fair and open competition, and selection on merit, in accordance with the recruitment code laid down by the Civil Service Commissioners. There is also a program in place for carrying out internal audits.
