The Biomedical Sciences Department provides integrated research, development and advice on effective medical countermeasures and expedient surgical approaches. The Department specialises in knowledge about the biological effects of chemical, biological and radiological weapons. The Department has capabilities in medical countermeasures and casualty care in a combat situation, as well as personal protection and less than lethal technologies.
