The Future Force Structure Study
is part of a programme of high-level operational analysis undertaken
by Dstl on behalf of the Director of Force Development. The aim is to
identify the capability balance required by the UK Armed Forces to better
meet the UK’s defence needs in 2025.
This study, which is mentioned in the Defence White Paper, ensures
that the UK’s force structure is robust enough in the face of
the changing security environment. Dstl’s holistic knowledge of
defence policy, modern technology developments, operational needs, concepts
and tactics ensures that the study identifies the capability needed
to match the modern war-fighter’s needs.
