The Policy and Capability Studies Department undertakes high-level operational analysis to support the Ministry of Defence and the UK Government in its decision making process. The Department also embeds scientific teams in Headquarters and warfare centres as well as operational areas. These teams support operations and exercises through the application of analysis-based science and technology. The Department’s capabilities include supporting policy formation, force planning and military capability decisions. Specialisations include assessment and development of doctrine and concepts of operation.
