The Physical Sciences Department comprises the protection science, dispersion physics, material science and armour physics elements of Dstl. The Department’s capabilities include armour systems, power sources, materials and structures and individual and collective protection.  It specialises in hazard assessment and simulation physics, and shock and acoustics work.
