Welfare advisory support
Welfare Officers can offer you advice or guidance about any work related problem helping to make sure you’re effective in your role. In addition they can assist with some domestic problems.
Occupational health provision
All main Dstl sites have Occupational Health advisors who provide professional, confidential advice on anything related to health in the workplace.
Pension Scheme
New employees can choose between two pension schemes:
- NUVOS - an occupational pension scheme.
The pension is based on pensionable earnings throughout your career and increased in line with the Retail Price Index. Contributions are 3.5% of your pensionable earnings.
- The Partnership Pension Account - a stakeholder pension.
Your pension will be based on the level of contributions from yourself and Dstl, the performance of your chosen fund and the annuity you buy with your pension 'pot'.
Full details of both schemes are available on the Civil Services Pensions Website.
Occupational and statutory sick pay
If you become unwell we will continue to pay you your full salary for up to six months. After that time we pay half pay to a maximum of twelve months total paid sick leave.
On site gyms and exercise classes
Each of Dstl’s main sites has a subsidised gym facility available. For just a few pounds each month you can make use of these facilities and take part in the exercise classes which run there.
