Dstl operates in a global environment. International co-operation creates frequent opportunities for movement. To build your expertise and broaden your outlook, you may transfer between different departments and locations within Dstl and the wider MOD or outside to industry. Depending on the nature of your role, there may also be scope for travel and short-term placements overseas (with help to learn new languages if you'd like).
Networking Opportunities
STEPS (Scheme for Technical Events and Professional Support) is a Dstl-wide initiative geared towards integrating new members of staff into the organisation. STEPS is 'run by new entrants for new entrants' through a series of events and activities with the aim of enhancing new entrants’ general and technical awareness, providing personal and professional networks within Dstl and helping to engender a sense of belonging.
