Sensor Systems

Radome

This group provides MOD and Other Government Departments with a focus for expert advice in individual and multiple sensor systems at sea, on land, in the sky and space. It evaluates & exploits sensor technology and expertise to develop sub-system concepts through advanced sensor integration, processing and fusion. This research and development supports the creation of a winning edge for UK forces.

We have vacancies at various levels in the following areas:

  • Radar Scientists / Engineers
  • Electro-Optic / Infra-Red Scientists / Engineers
  • Electronic Surveillance / Warfare Advisors
  • Integrated Sensors / Systems Engineering Scientists
  • Fusion Processing and Sensor Network Scientists/Engineers
  • Team Leaders

New Graduates and Post Graduates

Group of Graduates who entered the SAUC-E Competition

Protecting our Armed Forces is a key priority at Dstl. Our Sensors and Countermeasures department is a centre of excellence for the specification, design and development of sensor systems across a range of platforms, from tanks and submarines to troops and military hardware. We also create highly effective countermeasures that protect UK forces from threats.

Using your physics degree you could find yourself
...developing further the understanding, in MOD, of how targets interact with their background, determine future sensor requirements and develop new solutions to key defence problems. As your expertise develops, you could become a key advisor supporting MOD on key decisions in equipment and operations programmes.

Using your electronic engineering degree you could help to
...develop real time processing solutions to electronic surveillance challenges. As your expertise develops you could be advising senior MOD officials on the engineering implementations on real equipment developments and upgrade programmes.

Using your mathematics degree you could
...develop models and simulations of real and future sensors and formulate solutions for the countering of threats to our platforms in operations. As your expertise develops you could be called upon to advise on the future development of image and data signal processing in the UK and our partners overseas.

Using your computer science degree you could develop the software that
...could be implemented in urgent operational equipment, you could be developing solutions to software problems that are deployed in the field. As your expertise develops you will be called upon to advise MOD staff on sensor and countermeasure systems software integration issues.

There are no vacancies for this campaign, please try again at a later date.
